PRESS: Canada sends turbine for Nord Stream to Germany Jul 17

MOSCOW, Jul 18 (PRIME) -- Canada has sent a Siemens turbine for the Nord Stream gas pipeline to Germany on July 17 by plane, Russia may receive it on July 24, business daily Kommersant reported on Monday citing sources familiar with the matter.

“On July 17, Canada sent to Germany a repaired Siemens gas turbine used to supply gas through the Nord Stream pipeline from Russia to Germany... The turbine is being delivered to Germany by plane, not shipped by water as originally planned, which should speed up the delivery,” the daily reported.

After that, the turbine will be transported through Helsinki by ferry and land transport to Russia’s Portovaya compressor station, which is located in the Leningrad Region, about 20 kilometres from the Finnish border, the daily reported.

“The equipment will come to Russia sometime on July 24, its installation and launch will take three to four days,” the daily reported.
